MEETING WITH YOUNG SCOUTS

MEETING WITH YOUNG SCOUTS

On March 3, 2018 Ms. Liana Ghahramanyan, the coordinator of the National Ozone Unit of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA, visited Aghavnadzor where the National Scout Movement of Armenia (NSMA) was holding an “A level” training for 28 young scouts. The comprehensive training programme covered various topics including “The Ozone Layer and Us” module, consisting of the following sections:

-         Introductory part «The Ozone Layer and Us: its Location and Importance».

-         Natural and Anthropogenic Ozone Depletion.

-         International Treaties for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and Armenia’s Participation.

-         Protection of the Ozone layer and Me: what I can personally do to recover the ozone layer and to protect myself from the harmful ultraviolet (UVradiation.

The meeting was concluded by an entertaining educational game: participants, being initially divided into 4 groups, were given an assignment to make sun protective hats from the given materials. The results were evaluated by the jury. The teams were awarded the first, the second, the third and the fourth prizes based on the protective functionality of the prepared hats, their aesthetic look and the creative approach demonstrated by young scouts. In conclusion all meeting participants received information materials and thematic T-shirts.
